I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you have a wonderful festive season and enjoy yourselves!
2026 is a special year for the Isle of Wight Branch, as it marks the Club’s 40th anniversary. I wonder if the founding members thought it would still be going after all this time? They were Mike Smith, Malcolm Jones and Lester Elliott. Through word of mouth, leaving leaflets under windscreens and ads in the local newspaper the club flourished - with 52 members joined up within the first 2 years. Now we have around 70 members, some having been members since that first tentative meeting in 1986.
I’d like to remind you that our AGM is taking place on 15 January. We aim to keep the official business quite short, but we do like to see and hear from members with any suggestions you have about the running of the Club. Being our 40th year anniversary, we’re hoping to make our Annual Rally a special event and we’d love your input. This year our Rally is on Sunday 6th September, so make sure you keep that weekend free! There is a free buffet following the meeting so please come along and enjoy this with us, and catch up with other members.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Club throughout the year.
Best wishes
Sally Cochran
Chair
